Defining Hosts on the Windows Client

To monitor local host resources, such as disk and CPU usage, you must install the Big Brother client on the machine to be monitored.

The Big Brother Windows client includes a GUI configuration program where you can specify the services to monitor, the  thresholds for the disk and CPU tests, and other information. See the online help for that program for more information.

Note. As described in Defining Hosts on the Server, local tests do not need to be specified in the etc/bb-hosts file on the server. Do not enter directives for the disk, cpu, msgs, procs, or svcs test. These tests are performed automatically if the client software is installed.
